The titulín is Spain's fastest boat licence: a 6-hour course, no exam, and it never expires. It opens up powerboats of up to 6 metres and, from October 2026, it is the key to keep renting boats on your own.
Law change: what happens on 1 October 2026: Royal Decree 1188/2025 amends Spain's nautical qualification rules (RD 875/2014): from 1 October 2026, renting any motor boat requires a nautical qualification, including the small boats that until then could be rented without a licence. The exemption for boats up to 5 metres and 15 HP remains for privately owned boats only.
The course is run by authorised recreational nautical schools and federations. We arrange it for you near Blanes and combine it with your first rental: you finish qualified with the boat already booked for the same trip. Message us and we will point you to an authorised school nearby.
