    Why fish from Blanes

    Strategic location

Blanes sits at the point where the coastline changes character: sandy Maresme beaches to the south, the rocky Costa Brava to the north. This transition creates an exceptional diversity of marine habitats for fishing: sandy bottoms, seagrass meadows, rocky formations and open waters, all reachable within 30 minutes of leaving port.

    Comfortable, well-equipped port

The Port of Blanes has free parking, a marine fuel station and shops where you can buy fresh bait. Leave the harbour and within 10 minutes you're in productive fishing grounds. On your return, you can clean your catch and eat at the port restaurants.

    Species variety

The waters off Blanes are home to a wide diversity of species. Close to shore you'll find sea bass, gilt-head bream, white seabream and picarel. A little further out in open water, greater amberjack, bonito and dentex. In autumn and winter, squid jigging is excellent.

    Extended season

Although the boat rental season runs from April to October, each month brings its own fishing opportunities. Spring for gilt-head bream, summer for greater amberjack, autumn for squid and dentex. There is always something to catch in Blanes.
